Eduard Ovčáček

Born 5 March 1933 in Třinec
1957-1963 studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava /prof. Peter Matejka/
1962 year internship at the University of Applied Arts in Prague in the textile studio of Professor Anthony Kybal
1960 bases with Milos Urbášek Bratislava group Confrontations, which promotes abstract art in the Slovak Republic
1967 becomes a co-founder of "Klub konkrétistů"
1968 teacher at Palacky University in Olomouc
1968 programmatically starts to devote serigraphy
1991 co-founded the Institute of Creative Arts at OU, where he works as a teacher
1997 begins to organize workshops in screenprinting studio OU

Maintains contacts with foreign artists, especially in Poland / University in Katowice, Krakow and Lodz / and the Slovak Republic. His work is represented in many public and private collections in the Czech Republic, Europe, Asia and America. He is currently heading the Department of Prints and Drawings at the University of Ostrava.
